About The Programme

The Sussex RTC Internship Programme offers motivated individuals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a high-performance football environment.

This programme is designed as a learning placement, supporting both professional development and the day-to-day running of a Junior Premier League Regional Talent Centre.

Placements are available in on-site, hybrid, and remote formats, allowing students to gain meaningful experience alongside school or college commitments, where appropriate.

This internship is suited to:

  • Students or recent graduates

  • Individuals exploring a career in sport, media, or operations

  • Those seeking practical, real-world experience in a professional football setting

Placements are support-based and not paid employment

Internship Areas Available

Applicants may apply for one or more of the following internship areas. All roles are support-based, learning-focused, and supervised.

COACHING SUPPORT

MEDIA & CONTENT

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

  • Assisting with session setup and pack-down

  • Supporting player organisation during training

  • Observational learning alongside lead coaches

  • Matchday support (non-coaching role)

  • Supporting photo and video capture

  • Assisting with short-form content (Reels / TikTok / social)

  • Canva or design support (where applicable)

  • Content organisation and archiving

  • Supporting player registrations and records

  • Data entry and spreadsheet management

  • Admin and operational support

  • Learning club systems and processes

PHYSIOTHERAPY/SPORTS THERAPY

MATCH ANALYSIS

OPERATIONS & LOGISTICS

  • Observational learning opportunities

  • Supporting warm-ups and recovery routines

  • Assisting with injury-prevention practices under supervision

Support-based and observational only — no counselling or clinical practice.

  • Supporting trials, assessment days and showcase events & club events

  • Assisting with logistics, scheduling and coordination

  • Helping deliver smooth, professional programme experiences

  • Supporting research into international pathways and partnerships

  • Assisting with content, documentation and planning

  • Helping develop resources linked to international growth initiatives

This programme is designed as a learning placement. Interns are supported, supervised, and encouraged to develop confidence, professionalism, and real-world understanding of football environments beyond the classroom.

Programme Structure & Time Commitment

Internships run for 6–12 weeks and are structured around live training and match environments.

* Placements are part-time and flexible, designed to fit around study or other commitments

* Interns are expected to be reliable, professional, and proactive

* Support, guidance, and feedback are provided throughout the programme

* All roles are support-based, supervised, and learning-focused

This is a real football environment. Interns are treated as part of the wider team and are expected to uphold the values and standards of Sussex RTC.
